Ooros Suite
"Information when needed"
The Ooros Mobile Suite enables the "always on" access to an increasing number of services with a single application and login from your mobile device. Differently from traditional mobile applications, we adopt an open approach based on the XMPP protocol, allowing both Ooros Business Partners and third-party entities to provide messaging services and interactive applications without the burden of new software installation and maintenance, thus reducing time to market and development costs.
The Ooros Mobile Suite consists of a mobile client (Glider)
and a messaging platform (X.Winch).

Glider
Cross-platform mobile client
Instant messaging is the perfect means to interact with users through mobile devices, since it exploits well known concepts such as contact lists, groups, and short messages, without being invasive like phone calls. With respect to SMS and MMS, it is definitely cheaper (up to 1/100 per message), and more interactive, it has a quicker response time (near to real-time), and provides online presence notifications.
With these strengths in mind, Ooros developed Glider, an XMPP-based instant messaging client with extended capabilities that make it a true mobile application platform providing ubiquitous services. Besides being compatible with all the existing messaging networks (including Facebook chat), it offers advanced features, such as browsing and visualization of multimedia contents, remote services interaction through customizable forms, and a strong cryptography support, thus enabling payments, m-Banking and restricted personal data access.
X.Winch
X.Winch is the Ooros messaging platform controlling the communication with remote devices and provides added-value services through API and connectors. The communication platform is XMPP-based, thus being extremely extensible and allowing interconnections with many third-party services (XMPP is a standard protocol adopted by Google, Nokia, Apple, Cisco, and many other leading companies).
X.Winch provides user authentication and mobile connection optimization by suitably adapting and compressing exchanged information. Even mission critical business applications, which entail strong guarantees on message delivery, can rely on X.Winch under all conditions.
Real-time Information
Nowadays, having at hand the right information at the right time is one of the top requirements among both business users and consumers, no matter if it is news, RSS feeds, alerts, financial trends, public announces or simply entertainment. For customers, the current mobile technology offers the possibility to be "always on", but at the expense of heavy investments from service providers to address the heterogeneous mobile software platforms, and the nomadic unstable connections.
The presence notification sent by the Ooros client is the enabling technology for real-time information delivery, which can be enriched by context data such as the geographical position. Hence, heterogeneous sources can be mixed and mashed to become usefully available to end users, by being pushed to their mobile clients or accessed through any (mobile) web browser. Contents and delivery modes are then adapted to be suitable for the specific communication channel and mobile device of the end user.
Business Applications
Mobile devices are an established tool for workforce and sales force automation. The X.Wing messaging system and the Glider client, based on the XMPP protocol with additional proprietary extensions, allow the tailored and quick development of interactive mobile applications. The SaaS approach (Software as a Service) gives priority to the service itself and frees from the context details such as the heterogeneous mobile software platforms.

Moneiro
Moneiro is the Ooros solution (patent pending), to secure services using mobile phones. Specifically Moneiro allows for the usage of any enabled payment tool, such as credit and debit cards, e-Wallets, and bank accounts on the mobile device, thus offering the possibility to buy goods and use premium services.
Moneiro is particularly suited to pay:
- recurrent services or periodic taxes, with a single interface to payment notifications and history of dispositions
- ticketing, to book and buy tickets of any kind from mobile devices
- online premium service usage and e-commerce, with a higher security channel than traditional web sites since no sensitive data (e.g., credit card number) are ever transmitted and phishing attacks are prevented by design
For merchants, Ooros offers libraries and widgets to seamlessly integrate Moneiro with their own services and applications, while users can take advantage of Moneiro inside Glider or through a (mobile) web interface.
Social Network
Social networking involves both personal relationships and communications, thus making the instant messaging a perfect tool to interact with communities, such as Facebook1, in particular through mobile devices.
By means of Glider and X.Winch, Ooros provides a platform to build mobile interactive applications able to connect with social networks and messaging systems, and allowing to promptly reaching millions of users.
By exploiting XMPP, the Ooros Platform is completely open and customizable to the Business Partners requirements. Specific applications can be tailored by mixing advanced features such as groups, multi-user chats, multimedia content transfers, remote service interactions by means of sophisticated wizards.
